DEATH had no power over the Second Adam.
Death has power only over the sons of the first.
God would not allow Him to even stump His Toe.
"For the Scriptures say,`He orders his angels to protect and guard you.
And they will hold you with their handsto keep you from striking your foot on a stone.'"
“My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me ?”, was some of His last words.
Because death had no power over this other man, God had to turn His back on Him in order for
Him to die.
Even before Pilate Jesus told him that he had no power over Him except it be
give to him from God. He was given into the hands of sinners, thus allow them to beat
Him and to nail Him to a cross, but death had no power over Him. (John 19:10 )
This beating and mockery was Jesus’ last temptations and attack from
Satan to have Him bow to himself and not to the Will of the Father.
He knew it was coming as He spoke with The Father in the Garden.
Isn’t it fitting that the Second Adam would meet with God in the garden as
Adam the first did many years before?
His agony there before His Father in the garden was great knowing the temptations to come.
Jesus ended his conversation with, “ not My Will but Thine be done”.
Why would He endure such pain from the hands despicably people like you and I?
Because it was the will of His Father. The record indicates,
His understand of what it would mean if He failed. Moses and Elijah
had recently spoken with Him about His coming death. All those that had trusted
(in the Lamb sacrifice for the repentance of their sins before God, which He was the fulfillment)
would be dammed. Not that He could fail because the temptation only proves who
He was, not making Him who He is. As He looked into the future and saw you and I
He had Joy. As the record tells “He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross
because of the joy he knew would be his afterward”
(Hebrews 12:2). Jude verse 24 "And now, all glory to God,
who is able to keep you from stumbling, and who will bring you into his
glorious presence innocent of sin and with great joy".
Jesus’ death brought a reversal of the curse place on all that are in Adam.
The term “in Adam “ refers to the descendants of Adam.
That is to say that all humankind was in Adam at the time of his sin.
Because Jesus was not in Adam (he was a new creation) the curse of death was not on him.
His perfect life before God made him eligible to live here forever.
His death was the Masters Plan to bring all that would come unto God to
become “Born Again” into the line of Jesus. Yes, Jesus is the Father of all Christians.
Jesus is called in Isaiah “ the ever lasting Father”.
The Second Adams death brought to us life just as the first Adams life brought us death.
WE didn't choose death in Adam and God is righteous and just to make it just as easy to be saved and have new life.
It is finished was his cry, the deed was done and new life before God unto all that would believe would be the results.
The Record of God tells of death and God's wrath on all that refuse His Gift of new life.
Jesus was sent to secure salvation and eternal life with God simply by believing.
What are we to believe?
First we must believe that God is? Hebrews 11:6 In this we have a fear or respect for what He has to say and desires of us.
This is the hardest of all because this is where the real battle for our souls lies.
We have our own gods and even ourselves to please. We have been lied to by many deceivers not realizing that eternal peace and joy can only come as we seek to do God's will. In the end He will not allow a race of creatures to live outside of His way as we realize that he must sustain all Domains.
Things will be done His way we have no choice. Our only choice is to deign Him and all He stands for or respect Him and turn to His ways. Either way we choose He has a plan for us.
Next we must hear and believe the simple Gospel message.
Jesus' death is enough for us to have a new relationship with the only true and living God.
